Catch of the Day

i went up to the lake recently, since the weather's been getting nice and all. figured i'd do a bit of fishing, even though i've never been very good at it.

surprisingly, i caught myself a mermaid! i thought i'd snap a picture for hinge, since ladies love to see dudes holding fish, but i fumbled and dropped the mermaid right back into the lake! i was pretty bummed, until the goddess of the lake poked her head out of the water.

"hey, mortal"

"uh, what's up, goddess of the lake?"

"which of these mermaids did you drop into my lake just now?"

she presented two mermaids to me, one gold, the other silver.

"what?" i said, "it's neither of those, and also, what do you mean dropped into your lake? the one i caught came from there originally."

"yea whatever" she replied, heaving both the gold and silver mermaids on shore. without waiting for a response, she dipped below the surface, before coming back up to toss the mermaid i had caught onto the shore as well.

"hope you learned a lesson about honesty or whatever. peace"

anyway, moral of the story is i should probably hit the gym more, because it was almost nightfall by the time i dragged all three back to my car.
